Common Milkweed (Asclepias syriaca) is a handsome, straight plant you see in every farm field and growing wherever a roadside hasn't been mowed. Leaves are glossy and thick, and the blooms are large, rounded clusters of purplish/pink flowers atop plants that range from 2 to 5 ft. It's native in the US from Canada to Georgia, and west to Texas.

The botanical name, "Asclepias"; is after Aesclepios, the Greek God of medicine, since this plant has been used as a medicinal since ancient times. "Milkweed" derives from the fact that when you break a stem, sticky white sap immediately appears. Common Milkweed is one of our commonest "weeds," but one almost all wildflower gardeners want.

This is the plant famous for its "silky seeds" in fall, when you see the drying cone-shaped seedpods crack open and their snow-white shiny fluff flying around the meadow. This is the dispersal mechanism for the large shiny seeds of common milkweed. Every kid loves to blow them away in fall, like dandelion seeds in spring.

Even though farmers hate milkweed, you'll love it in your wildflower garden...for two reasons. It's beautiful and dependably perennial, and it's the No. 1 plant visited by Monarch butterflies on their famous migration south every summer and fall. In fact, during late summer, it's somewhat rare to see a milkweed plant without a monarch perched upon the flowers, making it the No. 1 butterfly magnet among our wildflowers. ("Butterfly Weed" is a close relative, with bright orange flowers.)

Earth Animal Treats
Flavor Name: Peanut Butter, Size: 20 Count (Pack of 1)
This is a great product, I first learned about this product when I took my dog to a training sesion. The instructor was using them as a training tool and my dog really got attached to them as I kept using them at home. She has been hooked on them ever sence. We give them to her now when she has been a good dog around the house.

Long lasting dog chew!
Flavor Name: Peanut Butter, Size: 20 Count (Pack of 1)
Mini Dachshund loves these! We tried many varieties of chews but most don’t last more than a min or two. So happy with these -finally a long lasting chew to give her when she needs something to occupy her in the evening. So far no stomach issues with these, and no obvious weird smell. Have not noticed any mess (as one person stated) they seem like a clean treat for our pup. Will buy again.

Best treat for puppy
My vet and puppy’s trainer recommend this treat for my puppy. Much better than rawhide bones for digestion. My puppy loves the flavored sticks. Peanut butter is her favorite. She gets very excited when I pull out treat. She takes stick and runs to her “place” to chew. Stops desire to chew on furniture, etc. I buy several packages at a time because she loves them and I love quiet down time.

Not long lasting but my dog loves them
Flavor Name: Peanut Butter, Size: 20 Count (Pack of 1)
My little dog loves them. But they are NOT long lasting and definitely require supervision. Would love to find a product that would last longer than ten minutes,

Good Quality Chew for Dogs with Sensitive Stomachs
Flavor Name: Peanut Butter, Size: 40 Count (Pack of 1)
I have a small dog with a sensitive stomach and these sticks are perfect for him. It's a low calorie treat that takes him 10-15 minutes to eat and he really likes the peanut butter taste. These are not cheap but by purchasing them in the 40-pack box it's a little less expensive than the smaller 10 pack bags. I know there are cheaper brands for this type of chew stick, but I like that this product is made in the US and so I don't worry as much about poor manufacturing practices or unknown additives.
